Let’s be honest. The electronic music world is overflowing with talent. Every day, thousands of DJs and producers upload new tracks, share mixes, and flood promoters’ inboxes with hopeful messages.
And yet – most of them never get anywhere.
They play in empty rooms. Their tracks sit ignored on SoundCloud. Bookers don’t reply to emails. Labels reject demos (or don’t even listen). And it’s not because they aren’t talented. Many of them are incredible producers. Many can mix circles around DJs who are getting gigs.
The problem? Nobody knows who they are.
Talent alone doesn’t cut it anymore. You need to know how to brand yourself, promote yourself, and build the right connections – otherwise, you’ll keep spinning your wheels while lesser DJs pass you by.
You’ve probably watched someone with half your experience and less musical depth leapfrog ahead – landing gigs, pulling followers, getting signed, and gaining recognition long before you. Inside, it feels infuriating. You think, “My music is better. My sets are better. My taste is sharper. Why does nobody see it?”
It’s not because you’re doing something wrong. It’s because the game changed, and you were still playing by the old rules. And until you understand exactly how the modern industry works – and how to position yourself inside it – you’ll keep facing the same invisible wall you’ve been hitting for years.
Here’s the reality you already know:
Being a Good DJ or Producer Is No Longer Enough
It’s not about teaching you another scale, plugin, or side-chain trick, or a social media hack.
La Zic academy is about the part that really matters:
How to get noticed in a saturated market.
How to present yourself so bookers and industry people (managers, label owners, A&Rs, DSPs) take you seriously.
How to grow an audience of listeners who stick with you.
How to build the kind of brand that gets you signed, booked and respected.
How to finish tracks & escape the loop – saving yourself hours and hundreds of dollars when you can complete and mixdown your own music.
How to get top DJs to support your music, grow your streams, followers & engagement rates.
How to kick off your own project: a record label, an event series, a podcast – or anything that aligns with your skills and values.
It’s a proven system built by DJs (Cristina and Eric) who’ve been exactly where you are now – quite different from most content creators and even DJ instructors.
Generally speaking, many are close to the world of DJing and production but they aren’t actually touring or making records so they have time to create “content” which is mostly for beginners. Let’s face it: you’re probably here because free and low-cost tutorials will only get you so far.
Let’s go back in time just a little more than a decade ago. Releasing music was democratized from a decade prior. In the early 2000s vinyl still very much dominated. In the 2010s, buying music at places like Beatport & the iTunes store was 10 years old, social media was in its infancy, Spotify & algorithmic music recommendation didn’t exist, and releasing a digital EP was an accomplishment because digital releases still required label oversight.
Whereas today, anyone can upload anything.
And then something massive happened: since the pandemic, the electronic music industry shrank but had more people than ever jumping in (Source – DJ Mag / Ibiza Music Summit).
While artists & venues took a massive hit, it was a boon for Pioneer DJ, Native Instruments & Ableton Live. Interest in “how to dj” surged, and it wasn’t limited to electronic music – in 2020, Fender Guitars had their biggest year in sales.
Here we are,a few years later, where there are more participants than ever in an industry that has not fully recovered from getting decimated a few years prior.
You need something radically different – something created for the actual realities of the modern DJ/producer world. Not theory. Not recycled advice. Not surface-level content creator fluff. La Zic academy is built by two people who’ve lived both the corporate side of branding and the underground side of electronic music – and turned those worlds into a step-by-step, modern blueprint for recognition, gigs, and growth.
La Zic Academy wasn’t created as another “DJ course.” It grew naturally from two very different career paths that collided at the right moment.
Cristina Lazic spent 12 years in marketing at Google and Apple, mastering branding and communication long before she stepped into the booth. When she began DJing, she brought that strategic mindset with her — and within a few short years, she went from corporate life and motherhood to playing Hi Ibiza, Space Miami, and Sunwaves, eventually launching the La Zic label to unite music, events, and education. As her profile grew, more and more artists began reaching out, asking how she built momentum so quickly.
At the same time, Eric Louis had already spent years in the underground — digging in record shops, releasing on respected U.S. and European labels, winning a Beatport remix competition, and running his vinyl-focused label Devilish Affair, which topped the charts at Decks.de. Eric also did production coaching and tutorials, but after years focused on studio work, he realized something many producers learn too late: getting heard is a completely different skill than making great music.
In early 2023, Eric saw Cristina sharing openly about being a mom, a marketer, and a touring DJ — and reached out, just like many others did. That wave of interest sparked the idea: artists didn’t just need inspiration. They needed structure, strategy, and guidance.
When the La Zic label launched in 2024, Cristina asked Eric to help build the educational side. They started with small group sessions. Demand grew immediately. By Spring 2024 — even as Cristina’s touring schedule exploded — they were recording academy content together across hotels and airports in the U.S., pulling directly from their lived experiences.
The result is La Zic Academy: a modern, self-study system built from the best of what both have learned — a blend of corporate branding intelligence and real underground DJ experience — designed to help artists nail their branding, pitch for gigs, grow their audience, and finally get heard.

In a few short years Cristina went from working Mum to travelling the world DJing at places like Sunwaves, Space Miami, Hi Ibiza & launching her new label La Zic in early 2024: a platform for music, events, & education.
Also a DJ, parent, and marketing manager by day. In the 2010’s Eric released on labels like Nervous Records, Get Physical & won a Beatport remix competition out of 300 submissions. Keeping an ear & eye in the underground he launched his label Devilish Affair in the 2020s to self-release. As a newcomer to record shops, his vinyl releases topped the charts at Decks.de, Eric can be found DJ’ing in New York & Washington DC & the label is now on it’s fifth vinyl release.
